When you count the number of electric vehicles due to arrive on the market by the end of 2024, you realize that the coming year will be one of transition. It’s a pretty big one, with over 50 new models or versions of existing models expected to hit dealerships.<\/p>\n

In order to give you an interesting overview, we’re proposing a series of\u00a0five dossiers<\/strong>, each presenting around ten electric vehicles, to help you discover what 2024 has in store for us. To keep things simple, we’ll proceed in alphabetical order.<\/p>\n

Without further ado, let’s get started on this fascinating tour.<\/p>\n

1 \u2014 Acura ZDX<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The\u00a0ZDX<\/a>\u00a0will be Acura’s first all-electric model, going on sale in early 2024. It was unveiled last August and, like its Honda cousin Prologue, is the result of a collaboration with General Motors (GM). Basically, it uses the latter’s Ultium platform, a highly promising structure that offers around 500 km of autonomy. The model will feature Acura’s own styling and presentation, but will share the 102 kWh battery of the Cadillac Lyriq. The expected model will be equipped with two engines and all-wheel drive.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2 \u2014 Audi\u00a0A6 e-tron<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

At Audi, the name\u00a0e-tron<\/em>\u00a0is used to designate electric models, and the range is slowly beginning to expand. The\u00a0A6 e-tron<\/a>\u00a0mid-size electric sedan will be launched next year and is expected on our roads by 2025. Rumor has it that it will feature a 270 kW recharging capacity, enabling it to recover some 300 km in just 10 minutes.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

3 \u2014 Audi\u00a0Q6 e-tron<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Q6 e-tron<\/a>\u00a0is expected to join the Q4 e-tron and Q8 e-tron in the second half of 2024, giving Audi electric SUV consumers an interesting choice. The model will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s next-generation PPE platform, which Audi shares with Porsche. In terms of format, it is very similar to the current Q5.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

4 \u2014 BMW\u00a0i5<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The\u00a0i5 sedan<\/a>\u00a0has just been unveiled on European soil, and its arrival will swell the ranks of BMW’s electric offering. It is expected to arrive in dealerships in the coming weeks. The M60 xDrive variant offers performance worthy of the M division, with 590 hp and a 0-97 km\/h time of 3.7 seconds. The basic eDrive40 rear-wheel-drive version will offer 335 hp, but some 500 km of range.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

5 \u2014 BMW\u00a0i7<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The BMW i7 is already on the market, but the family is set to grow by the end of 2024. A single-engine, rear-wheel drive variant is expected. The i7 eDrive50 will offer 449 hp and a slightly lower price. A more powerful version, the dual-engine i7 M70\u00a0xDrive<\/a>, will offer 650 hp. Expected a little later.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

6 \u2014 BrightDrop Zevo\u00a0400<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

If you’re not familiar with the\u00a0BrightDrop<\/a>\u00a0brand, don’t worry, you’re not alone. In fact, this company was created from scratch by General Motors to serve the commercial sector. It’s an all-electric range. The Zevo 600 van is already on the road, and now it’s time for the Zevo 400. This smaller van offers over 400 cubic feet (more than 11,300 liters) of cargo space for shorter, more frequent deliveries, such as urban errands. Production is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of this year.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

7 \u2014 Buick Electra\u00a0E5<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Buick’s first electric vehicle is expected by 2024. It’s not clear what Buick will bring to market first, but the brand confirmed the\u00a0Electra E5<\/a>\u00a0SUV for China late last year, hinting that it might well be sold here.<\/p>\n

Since nothing has been confirmed in the case of this vehicle, let’s remain cautious. However, it’s certain that Buick will come up with something. The model should be called the Electra E5, but everything is still subject to change.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

8 \u2014 Cadillac Celestiq<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Celestiq<\/a>\u00a0is an ultra-luxury sedan soon to be offered by Cadillac. The model is unlike anything we’ve seen from the brand before in terms of luxury, as it will push the envelope in every respect. Its base price will be in excess of US $340,000. With this product, Cadillac is aiming at Rolls-Royce and Bentley, rather than Mercedes-Benz or Audi.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

9 \u2014 Cadillac Escalade IQ<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

With a name as strong as Escalade in its range, Cadillac had no choice but to keep it through its electric shift. Thus, the\u00a0Escalade<\/a>\u00a0will have its electric variant of the same name, to which we simply add the letters IQ. This model will continue to offer the ultimate in luxury, and will come with a hefty price tag, estimated at over $150,000. The model, which is expected to offer a range of over 700 km, is scheduled for production launch in the summer of 2024 at GM’s Factory Zero plant in Detroit.<\/p>\n

All versions will be equipped with electric motors at the front and rear, for a total output of 600 hp. Range should exceed 500 km.<\/p>\n

And to give you an idea of what’s in store, the body and interior are made up of 300 fabricated parts and 115 3D-printed parts. The car will be hand-assembled in small batches at GM’s Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan.<\/p>\n

10 \u2014 Chevrolet Blazer EV<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Finally, at Chevrolet, three all-electric models are expected in 2024, including the\u00a0Blazer EV<\/a>. This product is expected before the end of the year, and will feature three drive configurations: rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.<\/p>\n

It will also take advantage of GM’s Ultium platform, which looks promising.<\/p>\n
