Interest in foreign vehicles is growing. Over the past few weeks, we\u2019ve noticed that many people no longer want to buy products and vehicles from the USA. First there was the uncertainty surrounding Donald Trump\u2019s tariffs, which could be imposed on Canadian products as of March. Then there was the U.S. threat to impose a 100% tariff on vehicles built in Canada and shipped to the United States.<\/p>\n

We mentioned this in our gallery on non-American models sold in Canada, but we must remain cautious when shopping for options. Indeed, it can happen that a foreign product has more American parts than a model that is\u2026 American.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s important to do your research in this area. Nevertheless, because you\u2019re interested, here\u2019s a gallery of 10 foreign electric vehicle models. These aren\u2019t American models, but they\u2019re interesting and available in Canada.<\/p>\n

1 \u2013 Nissan Ariya<\/h2>\n

You need to know that the new generation of this model (gasoline) is more spacious, enabling it to compete with other sub-compact SUVs in the industry. This electric version takes advantage of all that with an airy, well-crafted layout, not to mention that its driving dynamics are typical Mini pleasure.<\/p>\n

The range is 341 kilometres, which is acceptable considering that we\u2019re mainly dealing with an urban SUV.<\/p>\n

4 \u2013 BMW i4<\/h2>\n

The offer is slimmer but still quite interesting if you are interested in a car. Of the lot, the\u00a0BMW<\/a>\u00a0i4 stands out because it offers everything we love about BMW: inspired driving. Contrary to what you might think, the base price of this model is quite attractive, considering what you get. The i4\u2019s range is 428 kilometres, another reason to rejoice.<\/p>\n

5 \u2013 Genesis GV60<\/h2>\n

Let\u2019s stay in the world of luxury vehicles for a moment with the\u00a0Genesis GV60<\/a>, the first of two electric SUVs offered by Hyundai\u2019s premium brand. If you like more compact, maneuverable models, you\u2019re in for a treat with this one, which delivers both sporty driving and power to spare. It can cover 399 kilometres on a full charge.<\/p>\n

6 \u2013 Hyundai Kona EV<\/h2>\n

With a range of up to 520 kilometres, this SUV remains popular with buyers. The good news is that, after a time when you had to wait to get your hands on a model, dealers have them in stock now, giving you extra buying power.<\/p>\n

8 \u2013 Toyota bZ4X<\/h2>\n

On the other hand, every conceivable control is on-screen, making the onboard experience anything but user-friendly. See where your tolerance level is with technology before moving forward.<\/p>\n

10- Volkswagen ID.Buzz<\/h2>\n

Finally, how can we not include the\u00a0Volkswagen ID.Buzz<\/a>\u00a0in our top ten? This minivan, launched last fall, is a modern version of the legendary Type 2 from the 60s and is simply irresistible. The colour palette takes you back in time. The customization options are still sparse, but we are getting there with more aftermarket stuff being offered. The snag is the price, which is way too steep. Cheaper versions will be available next year.<\/p>\n
